Pantone Pastries

posted on: Thursday, March 22

In honor of Spring, my love for pastries, and my obsession with anything Pantone — I had to share these pantone pastries fashioned by French art director Emilie Guelpa. Aren't they pretty?! Via my new favorite French food blog, Griottes. Merci beaucoup!

Spring!!

posted on: Wednesday, March 21

Spring is officially here! This weather is fantastic but also a little spooky since it is SO unseasonably warm. I feel as though we skipped winter all together and I'm waiting for a big storm to happen because, c'mon, we can't have it that easy! But, I'll take it. Last night we went for a long walk along the hudson, watched the sunset and laughed at all the crazy runners and bikers. Hello spring, welcome back!

Esther Boutique

I generally don't find a shop in which I could literally purchase every item they sell. Esther Boutique is the one exception — and for now, I'm thankful that they are Australia based. I would like my entire closet filled with their clothes. The patterns are bright, the lines are flattering, and each piece has a boho-modern feel that could be worn with flippers to a beach party or with heels for a night out on the town. I heart it. See more right here.

Lighthouses and Puppy Staches

We had a fabulous weekend at home that was full of food, jokes, wii tournaments, and myself learning the backwards shuffle moonwalk dance {or so I call it}. Fun times all around topped off by a gorgeous view at the beach and a pup pup with a mustache. Couldn't. Stop. Laughing! Get yours right here

This made me laugh out loud! Happy Friday indeed. I'm heading home this weekend and I cannot wait! I plan on doing a little hometown tour, and going for a little {or long} run by the beach. Besides seeing my family, I get to see the pup pup! Ahhh, feeling relaxed already! Happy weekend!

Would You Wear Fake Glasses?

posted on: Tuesday, March 6

When I came across these 'Readers' at UO I was surprised that glasses are so "In" that people would actually be purchasing fake glasses as a fashion accessory. I have horrible vision so glasses are not worn on a feel-like-it basis, but rather a 'if I don't wear my glasses I will not be able to see the person sitting next to me' kinda thing. Would you wear fake glasses? This whole thing reminds me of when I was little and wanted braces even though I didn't need them. Because, c'mon, you get to change your colors up and have holiday themed teeth — umm, who wouldn't want braces? Yea, that's what I thought.

Cooking Fail

posted on: Monday, March 5

Last night I attempted to make jambalaya. I found a fairly easy recipe, gathered my ingredients, and set to work. Somehow I must have been majorly distracted. Perhaps it was the music, fun conversation, or distraction of my cat being super darned cute with her catnip toy. Doh, catnip! Whatever it was, I was fooled the whole way through. That jambalaya smelled damn good. It was perfection. I even plated it all pretty and made a kick-ass salad on the side. Well — one bite later and I was seriously worried that my mouth would never work again, and that my stomach might explode. It was THE HOTTEST and spiciest {not in a good way} food I've ever tasted in my life. I've got a bone to pick with whoever wrote that recipe. Note — when a recipe tells you to make a cajun spice and gives you another recipe for making that spice, it does not mean you then use the entire contents of said spice. NO. You must very very carefully pay attention to how much of that spice you should use and then save the rest for later. C'mon people. Why would you make five times as much spice if you're not going to use it ALL in the recipe? Very unclear. Despite some very sweet attempts to tell me "No, its still really good", we ate as much as we could handle, sweat our buns off, and embraced dessert. Helloooo, chocolate covered peanut butter filled pretzels!! You just made my dinner.

Ash & Anchor

Today I'm swooning over these scarves by Ash & Anchor. So pretty! And perhaps the perfect accessory for a warm weather vacation. It is supposed to be 60 tomorrow. Perfect weather for a pre-spring teaser. Happy weekend!! P.S. Some Hunger Games cupcakes!!
